Terengganu

Only it k recharge my energy!I_t_132

This time is Terengganu. Margaret will be going to Kuching for working. And as her graduation trip, I accompany her to one of her destination – Terengganu. I recommended Kenyir Lake as it k jus taken my breath away through pictures. So, we took a Kenyir lake express to Kenyir lake at 9pm. We met COPE’s guitarist cum lead singer on the bus. He told us bot How Peaceful in Terengganu, Must go Places in Kuala Terenganu. He reached his “Kampung” -  Bandar al Mutafa Bilah Shah aka Durian Mas at 3am. After his leaving, finally I had a peaceful nap. We reached there at around 6am, Friday. Accompany with us, there are Alif and Fan. Alif who over slept and missed his stop. Fan who is a Vietnamese, miss his stop because doubt the location he should go. While we were admiring the scenery of  Kenyir Lake, another friends who suppose to meet us trapped himself in Jerteh. It takes about 5 hrs to from Jerteh. So, we end up leaving together with Alif and Fan from Kenyir Lake to Kuala Berang. Bus took us to kuala Berang at 8.30am. We stopped at Kuala Ping, another small town for tea break. The first Terengganu food I tried, Nasi Minyak. We reached Kuala Berang at around 9.40am.

Fan took a Taxi to Durian Mas; and we took another taxi headed to Kuala Terengganu. We dropped Alif off at Ajil, his place. We continued our journey to Kuala Terenganu. Before arrive at Kuala terengganu, we went to Losong. Losong is like COPE mentioned that there is a stall selling kelopok lekor like hot cakes and there is always a long queue in front of the stall. So we went there, and catch chances to know the making of Kelopok lekor. After a long journey, we met our friend Chin Hong at 12pm.

After checked in YT midtown hotel, we started our itinerary. Keep walking, then strolling, last resting. We went to Masjid Maziah, Garden Maziah, Pasar Payung, Bukit Puteri, Dataran ShahBandar. We went to Pantai Batu Buruk at the evening. I love this place’s concept although there is rubbish everywhere. There are few fast food restaurants around the area; in front of the beach is night market. Further the road, there is an arena for people to do live performance, and there is a playground and a resting corner. Besides, there is a food corner; from stall, bistro, and restaurant. Of course, there are some resorts along the beach. After seafood dinner in De beach bistro, we went to Masjid terapung. We purposely to there at night, so we k see the shadow of the building from the water. Excellent view.

Went to Kapas Island the next day. First I thought was a nice day, but rain later. We reached island at 11am. Received warm welcome from d boatman and islanders. They introduced to me the  sergeant” fish, as they have stripes on their body. Later, we went to canoeing, playing on the beach, strolling under the sun, snorkeling….. There is a shark point and turtle point on the island. We finished admire the island at 4pm. Actually, there is squid catching activities at night, but since we were rushed out of time, we would join next time.

After exciting and thrilling at kapas island, we went back to Kuala Terengganu by taking the public transport. We squeezed into the bus. Along with us is all the secondary students who had just finished their school. At night, we walked to China Town. There is only one street in China Town. There are two rows of Chinese shops houses along the road. Frankly speaking, this is the only place we can eat Chinese food…. Sound weird, but is true!!! After spending time in china town, we end up rested tiredly on the bed.

We had a very leisure morning on the last day in Terengganu. It was a sunny Sunday. We hunt for Nasi kerabu.

Compare to Kelantan, nasi kerabu in terengganu is quiet special, as there are serving with fish. Besibes nasi kerabu, we ordered Nasi kapit. We leave and say good-bye to Terengganu at 1pm.

It was a memorable and interesting trip. Meeting lots of ppl, experiences the LOST, Knowing the interesting places in Kuala Terengganu, Thx to Margaret, a wonderful friends who is going to work in Kuching. Asking me to join ur trip. Like to thanks Alif, with ur direction advise. Boatman in Kapas Island (with his boat no, 227) becos of him we got discount in canoeing….

Great different experiences in Terengganu!!

Perak 2006

November 30th, 2006 by it-palace

What I experienced 6 days in Perak?

A simple sun block will still make u feel dark. Therefore a good whitening lotion is needed to do Maintenance every night before sleep.

Students card is a thing MUST bring. There is many places offer student privilege. I didn’t bring.

Is a rainy season, every day we suffer from getting soak. So, next time have to plan my trip to early of year.

I found out people in Perak consider friendly. I lost quite many times. Most of the times have to allow people to guide back the exact route. So, if lost, not sure, hesitated… Please ASK around.

Transportation is a big problem. There is only inter-bus in Ipoh,. Out of Ipoh, hardly can travel bus from one destination to another. Taiping and Pangkor have car rental for Kancil, 60rm per day, else in Ipoh is 126rm per day. So, walk or take bus in Ipoh will be more economic.

Food heaven is a name I named for Perak. The food overall in Perak consider standard. There are many special & famous cuisine that you must try. Try, then try the best! Teluk Intan “zhu chang fun”, “pong pia”; Ipoh “Tim Sum”, “Yan Kok Kei”, “Touge (bean sprout) Chicken”; Bidor “kai chai Bing”.

Security in Perak is considered high. Police patrol is obvious especially during nighttime.

Shop houses in Perak closed early, Like Ipoh and Taiping is around 4.30pm. Teluk Intan will be earlier, as the town will become so quite when it is 8pm. So, dun expects any nightlife at there. But I can see Ipoh has a night life area, somewhere near Jusco and Taiping’s favourite pastime is KaraO-K

Kamunting, a place 10 minutes to central of Taiping. We went there, because, the bus stop there. We need to take bus from Kamunting to Taping townarea. To reach Ipoh, we need to take bus from Taiping to Kamunting. From Kamunting we took bus to Ipoh. It roughly took us 2hrs. At night somewhere near bus stop, there is a Malay stall selling 15sen sate.

Taiping is a town which more suitable for Oldest people. The residents in taiping mostly are army. There many army camps scattered around Taiping. Very recommended hotel: Hotel Fuliyean. Can get a good bargain prise from the uncle whom on duty. This hotel is in the central of Taiping, so it would be very easier to travel around. Like Taiping Lake, museum, library, prison and Tourist information counter. To reach zoo, war cementery, and Maxwell hill, car will be the best transportation. There are no bus in the cental, so what u need is walk. Lucky, we got a part-time tour guide, Jaysham.

Ipoh which is the state capital of Perak has more transportation provide. However, dun expect too much, the bus always late, no air-con, old but CHEAP. The farrest place I reach only cost 1.20RM. Around 7pm, the whole city will quite. The most crowded place will be the night market area. We spend at London Hotel, not so recommended but are cheap. The other we stayed is Majestic hotel. At night, the panoramic view to Ipoh City hall is beautiful. There is a very antique lift in the hotel! If ya affordable then try to spend a night in Syuen hotel, it looks very grand.

Tambun, the very southeast of Perak. There is an area construct under Sunway group. The famous place is Tambun Lost world. This is the place if want to experiences the lost world real life. In the Park, there is a Hot Spring Pool. I really enjoy the massaging.

Teluk Intan, a very small town, 8pm the place has very quite. Most of the shop will close. The most OK hotel is Anson Hotel (80rm per room) is really just a hotel, no café or other facilities.

Gua Tempurung, a very exciting and challenging cave exploring I ever do. Want some special itinerary, spent a 3.30hrs in the cave to admire the natural of stones. 1.90km long and with 1050 stairs to climb. Experiencing swim, crawl, crab walk, duck walk, wind breezing in the tunnel, twisting, and climbing. Zul is our tour guide. An enthusiasm tour guide and good storyteller. Due to rainy season, we reverse the whole process. We went to wet part before dry part. Of course, the souvenirs from this lovely place, the scratches and minor wounds.

Batu Gajah, we just by pass this small place after we visiting Kellie’s castle. There are many buildings which abandoned. This is another small town after all.

Sitiawan, I not sure which part we reached. Somewhere near the wet market. It was Friday, but the street is so pale even is in the afternoon.

Lumut, a very cozy and is a perfect + economy holidaymaker places. The surrounding seems too commercial. Even the WASHroom is too classy. Pay 50cent to enjoy a 5-star washroom.

Pangkor reach by taking a ferry (10rm for rounded trip) from Lumut. It took about 40 minutes. Rent a car or motorbyte (car 60rm per day, motorbike 40rm per day) can round island. Stop wherever you want, Go whatever place you like. Hardly can spot a Bus on the island. We stay in Horizon Inn (90rm per night, sea view). It is beside Hornbill resort. Every evening around 6pm, the staff of hornbill resort will come out to feed the hornbill. Spotted Hornbill on island is very easy! From Teluk Nipah to Giam island only cost 5rm. Worth it! N I shall not forget; seafood, seafood, seafood…yummy!!

Bidor, the most famous Kei Chai Bing shop is located in the main street. Once you turn in from north-south high way, make a left turn and right turn for next junction, you will reach the crowded street.

Overall, the trip is memorable and unforgettable. We spent the minimum, but enjoy and play the maximum. So, u can do it too!

Tioman Island

October 25th, 2006 by it-palace

Tioman

Island

2 days 2 nites. Is really an island full of tourists from S’pore. There were quite rare to see local on island. Before arrived to

Tioman

Island

, I managed to spend a half day tour in Mersing, Air Papan. Thanks to Twins’ cousins. We had a stroll along Air papan. Is a place suitable for BBQ. However, It was’t in our plan. It will be our next time trip, then. We had to spend 2 ½ hrs on ferry. It really made me felt uncomfortable. I nearly had thrown out. I still doubt the reason I had seasick, as I had taken medicine for anti-dizzy before on board. We reached Salang village, Tioman at 8.30pm. It was dark; we really cannot admire the scenery. We just check –in the

Salang

Beach

resort once we arriving the island. the hotel is owned by Chinese. We stay in Mala chalet. After dis-packaging, we had our dinner at the most crowded place, the salang island resort cafeteria. They served

Malaysia

cuisine and of course, grill seafood too. How can we miss seafood while we are on the island?

After a heavy dinner, we take a stroll along Jetty. The water is crystal clear until we could see the fish swimming. As I found out, most villager and workers favourite night’s pass time is fishing squid. I met few worker and resorts’ staff fishing in the middle of night.

We met few internship workers from S’pore. There r French and Swedish. Instead, we asked them to help us take pictures. We had a UNO time before we went to bed. This was the tiredness game I ever played because we take an hr to finish. Wat a tired day!

Twins would take depart from island at 4.30pm .therefore, C toh n I went for a round island day trip. It cost us 70RM. There are 5 destination spots. Firstly the agency told us there are 9 indian pax on this trip and the trip will started on 10.30 am. At the end, there are 20 pax on boat. There were including 9 Indian, 3 French, 1 Swedish, 3 polish, 2 chinese (C toh n I) and 2 Malay (The boat man). We had to stopped in the middle of the sea to refill petrol. nearly freak out!! I suggested to the boatman, never ever bring 20 pax on boat again. We went to

Paya

Village

,

Juara

Village

, A waterfall, and A spot for snorkeling (opposite Berjaya village). We din go to Marine park as the whole trip is delayed. We spent more time in Paya for lunch n there are some guys performing water jumping at the water fall’s jetty. The whole trip ended at around 6.30pm. After visiting few village, I had to admit (boonHan is right!!)

Salang

Village

is the most crowded and enjoyable village. We went to Nipah village too; this is a village I found out that without a decent Jetty. As for the coral, I dun have the chances to see closer, perhaps will do it next visit. And the coral island trip! It was a splash noon!

We and Polish (Paul, Peter n Martins) had dinner together at the Salang Islang resort Cafetaria. They are a great eater, Especially Peter. He promised he will on diet so no food after 10pm. (good luck to U, boy!) Again, we had a stroll along Jetty. This time we had a culture exchange nearly 2 hrs.  They do really young n energetic guys. They soon will end their exchange program in S’pore and back to

Poland

. They are superb curios to Malaysia Culture. Hope the tutorial C toh n I given is enough to make them understand. Then, C Toh n I had a rest beside the beach.  The weather is cool and breezy as I fell to sleep without any signal. When we prepared to go to bed, Paul knock our door, and ask us if we r willing to play our “UNO”. In fact, they never heard before. I won the first round. Superb honor but lost the coming 3 rounds. Rain started at 1.30am. we squatted at the aisle and continue. The game finished at 3pm. It was an unforgettable Tioman nite, as I promised not goin to play “UNO” with Polish anymore. I still wonder how come they can beat me so easily?! Perhaps I m too tired to play tis game.

We got up at 7am the next morning. We had to collect Shells as we promised this was the penalty. Oh god, there are less shells in

Salang

Village

compare to Air Papan. But there are many dead corals on the beach. We simply collected the most perfect shells and give them as we promised last night. After we had our breakfast, C toh n I had a stroll at the other part of the village. In this morning, (24/11/2006) Malay was celebrating their new year. Shops on the island were closed as celebration was on. We say good bye to salang village at 1.30pm. Resorts on the island will close during November.

We manage to sit at 2nd level, therefore a nicer view can see. Due to hazy weather, the small island at the farer place can not view clearly. was BLUR!! We reach Mersing at 4pm. And I din feel seasick. Therefore, I had to conclude that stay in-side for air-cond wil make u feel dizzy. The nature air will make u feel more comfortable. I manage to reach Muar at 8.30pm. It was a thrilled and excellent trip! For those who are searching for a place to relax,

Tioman

Island

may be able to be your destination!

Quote from Alice ” she’s gone..yet still so near..”

October 9th, 2006 by it-palace

The sky was gray this day, because the haze. My mood is gray too because she’s gone…
Far away…from me.
She has a head of figure.
She is a great cook.
She likes watching Chinese opera.
She is a good mum and a good wife. A best grandma, too.
She likes to share her experience with her grandchildren.
She likes celebrating Chinese festival.
She likes to gather everyone in a place to have meal.
She always gave the best to everyone.
She wants everyone to be good.
She wants harmony and rapport among one and others.
She is considerate, tender, love, nice, and sweet.
This January, I visited her during CNY. She was well, still can walk even had the need help of a holder.
February, the general hospital’s doc told her children. She is bleeding too much blood. However, they dun know the blood where to go. Therefore, they need to do a medical checkup. Start from d-day. She went to hospital in and out continuously. And from that day, she dun even can walk.

Her husband, serve, take care, love her without complaining, even she kept angry with him. Her husband always knew, the lady she loves most had served and cares her for more than 50 year. This is time to take turn. She pleased, because her husband is still beside her.
After 9 months, on 3/10/2006 she’s gone. Gone to far away.
A husband and Eight children accompany besides her.
A bunch of grandchildren praying and blessing for her.
All relatives chanting together.
On 7/10/2006, she rests in peace forever at a nice and scenery place.
I pray for u, grandma. Hope you are fine at the other world.
Meetings for happiness, not miss when apart.

kuala Selangor~ Merdeka!

September 1st, 2006 by it-palace

I joined a group of fren to Kuala Selangor. D very main objective is watch d fireflies (kelip-kelip). The legendary, natural christmas tree. We started was so perfectly but so jamm, maybe b’cos Off workin hr n national day eve. N we miss d kg kuantan kelip park. So, found a road to kg belimbing park. Lots of bananas, coconuts, n oil palms alogn d road. Then d road get smaller, no lights, no other transport. Only 2 cars driving in the night dark path. Luckily, found local ppl… they told us we missed d corner.. so we u-turn , u-turn, left n right n finally reach d belimbing park. In fact, Belimbing is owned by Private. The entrance is 10rm wif life jacket. This park and Kg Kuantan is just a distance.

Ermm…before d boat started, fireflies can see everywhere. But d boat will take u aroun to d tree that have many..i mean many fireflies.. so, is jus like a natural Christmas tree. However, Not like wat I imagine before.. not every tree havs fireflies. Only Berembang tree which growth in

mangrove

Forest

along d

Selangor

River

. We did catch d fly.. d boat was shaken.. n would very excited when u catched it.. u will SCREAM. I did.. N in d park, we met a very nice uncle fr Jeram. He brought his daughter n frens. At tat very moment, we stil havent take our dinner. So, he brought us to pasir pelambung. (I not so remember its name). The place is grear, cos can view the “old town’ of Kuala Selangor n d light house in Bkt Melawati. We ordered 8 dishes.. sound like seafood feast. Cos of d uncle, we got d special discount. That something k cheers for d night.

D next thing we started concerning after d dinner + supper is d accommodation. After spending an hr to search d room in d midle of d night. most of  us, stil prefer something budget n suitable. Guess wat??? We phoned to HKS (hotel Kuala selangor).. (10X for d website given by Boon Han).. n they stil hv empty rooms, so we check in..of course, stil deal wif the person in duty..bargain, bargain…… then we got 2 rooms for 90rm. Then, everyone satisfy. Everthing settle aroun 3am. But d place is only suitable for sleep. If wanna try to do something more relax, more facilities, more services, more clean n secure, then sure is de palm inn.

D next day, we had our breakfast at “Auntie Kopitiam”. It is started since 1935, and now is owned by Auntie Foo. The first Boss is her father- in –law. This coffee shop is situated opposite HKS. They sell local breakfast (nasi lemak bungkus, kuih-muih), chinese food (toast bread, but NOT using charcoal) n american breakfast..oso hav laksa n nasi ayam.. Variety ya. Can have a try there, many local ppl will have their breakfast there. The auntie will make d coffee by herself, n she is so enthusiastic to recommend d tourist spot to us.

IS a sunny morning. We crossed the road, n took d train to d Bkt Melawati (can take 2rm train, save lots of time; however k take a stroll too), d day we went, only had one spot is available, that is the “fort”. Ops… I should not forgot the grey and black monkeys. Tourists allow to feed, but at

ur

own risk.

We did by pass Tmn Alam (Natural

park

of

Kuala Selangor

), Bkt Belanda tat area, lake, Makam Anak Dara. Then went d fishing area (somewhere near De palm inn). We din go fishing, (for so sure…) we went to d temple beside.. sound funny.. n met another uncle. Quite interesting, he told us bot d feng sui of sg selangor tat adi been destroyImg_1937  by d foreigner went they invaded M’sia. So, now kuala selangor k not modern. According to d uncle, the fengsui of tis place is a tortise, but there is a lighthouse build on d head of tortise. Therefore, there is no development is d area. N we stil wonder d story, but look, we get X-tra info bot tis place. And actually, Kuala Selangor is a famous POrt before Klang. Due to d accumulation of mud aroun the port, ferrries are not allowed to stop there, so, Klang will take over the kuala selangor important duty.. Then d uncle ReCommendeD us to two temples. One is d over 100 yrs temple, it is very old temple n local ppl and other state businessman will come here to pray for blessing. Another one is “seven sword temple” ( I translated directly— qi jian ..miao— soft of.. stil renovate) but I think it will become another tourist spot in the future.

We went to Pasir Pelambung and ate seafood porridge (at hai pin restaurant), is very nice. Special.. n cheap.. o economy price. at least, is d price we expected. We order crab noodle, 4 heaven king ( lala, lala but in long shape, “ham” and scallops)….

N something, k not forget, shape for local products. Quite funny, most of d products are from Perak.. Think only fresh seafood is local.. n of course d salted fish. They do sell all kind of dried sea food.. Remember it is a fishing village.. They do sell crystal layer cake, I din try cos have to make order before that.

The whole trip is Nice n Fun… but seem only remember we kept U-turn-ing… kept LOST.. kept searching for the new place.

Most of people here are so nice n friendly.. ‘cin cai’ asking around they will so generous yo! So don’t worry to get lost, have to dare to ask for. Never thought they will such good. But d auntie said, once she here d very first day (35 yrs ago) , she love it.. cos d place is so great. Well, I need time to feel it!

Here, I need to thanks Margaret, u made this trip so successful! N shall not forget XiaoJun, XiaoHuang, FuiLing, ChingHong, Chai fong, SouJian, MingLee n her very funny boyfriend.

A special thx to Boon Han, wonderful detail information provided.

Kuala Selangor, keep kelip-kelip al the time ya!~

Natiojal Park, Malaysia

May 14th, 2006 by it-palace

Taman Negara is always a place I wanna go..finally, my dream comes true..

3 days 2 nites Taman Negara, Pahang

Our trip started in the early morning, 9/5/06.

Traveled 3 hrs to Jerantut..

and traveled 1 1/2hrs to reach Kuala Tahan entrance..

The timber road is bad and everyone is stiffed in the car. The sir con didn’t really on. Finally, we reached Ekoton (our resort) at 2.30pm. And met our tour guide- Mat Kayuh (Nazri).

After preparing everything (pasted mosquitoes repeller, applying sun block,

lip balm, poured d salt…) we went to our first activity in Tmn Negara-

Explore d Gua Telinga.. So wat we got?!: a rooms of bats, flying in and out,

the giant toad, a insect (i forget wat it calls), a hibernated snake (it wasn’t moving)..

the cave is steep and slippery, every step have to think twice..Luckily,

the cooperation of friendship’s hand n the order from our guide.

there is a river (Sg. Yong in the forest and the orang Asli is lived beside the river). Nobody got hurt, except d japaneses guy- Sashi..but i think he is tough..

so even hurt o pain, he just remained calm. and i shouldn’t forget that Nazri

got the kissed from leeches…..

someboD kiled the leeches…(by putting salt on it!!

Sydney

did it…

the murderer..)

after exploring the cave, we had our dinner at Wan floating restaurant..

tis restaurant is opened by a malay family… and they are really friendly.

the weather start getting dark..and we gusses the night activity will be brought

forward.. However, the rain stop and

we had our night juggle walk traveled to Mutiara resort by boat.

After a multimedia presentation, Nazri brought us to a hide. From the hide

We saw deers.. So, i know deers are also active at night.

Then we got the chance to see lots of different species of spiders, stick insect. when we walked back, we saw a blind boar is looking for food.

This night jungle walk had closer my relationship we mother nature.

The next day activities are well packed and everyone playing likes hell.

we had a jungle trekking and canopy walk in the morning. The scene from the canopy walk is enough to take my breath away. From the canopy, the trees are below our foot and k hear and admire the view. Somehow, u may see squirrels are besides U. But i not so lucky, cos there are to many people on the bridge, therefore, chances to see any animals is smaller)

At here, i would like to thanks Angie (a chinese female tour guide for taking care my bag!)

Then, Nazri brought us to 2 viewpoints. We had a long trek walked.

Along the trekking, we spot Tualang (the biggest and tallest tree), Liana (wat tarzan alwiZ grab,

a fragrant tree which is one of the ingredients to make Sasi- the carbonated drink, a very big Petai tree,

a small durian tree….)

Finally we reached Bukit teresek. Tahan Mount is just opposite the bukit Teresek.

Due to the weather, we only can see blur Tahan Mount.

After lunch, we had rapid shooting activities and Village orang Asli visiting.

we should be going village before rapid shooting. However, rain had started before we arrived. It seemed like telling us: ‘Go to get wet before landing to tis village”.

therefore, we went for rapid shooting. A screaming session is on…

we had a water splashing in somewhere middle of Sg Tembeling.

Everyone started getting crazy and playing fool around.

So i got my first leech’s kissed…i, myself stil k not believe it.

it isn’t pain o hurt. i got the mark on my leg.

We visited orang Asli village with a wet body but everyone still energetic.

This is because we ever been met orang Asli before.

Badeq is d orang asli we visited. There are 48 people in that area. Mostly are

in the middle age. Lee, a representative from the village had demonstrated

to us how to start fired with a rattan and bamboo..

then, Lee taught us how to hunt animal by blow pipe..

everyone got the chance to blow. i success blew in the third time. It isn’t hard at all. then we had a drink. the drink is from a wood..but i just cannot remember wat the wood called. the water come from the wood is crystal clear.

Then again, the sky getting dark..everyone dashed out the village and run to the boat…

It was a heavy rained. Everyone is soaked. Of course we had our dinner late. The rain still going on. Therefore, we just sit there and gossiping around. There shared a lot with us. I even know that BBQ the “Chilopoda” (lipan) can cure the asthma. They said is a traditional way. KongKang (a very cute monkey) is wat we always wanted to spot in Taman Negara. So, the local told us that the active hours for Kongkang are around 8pm-5am. Something interesting is kongkang usually spotted around the resort. So, we started planning our early morning trekking- to spot the lovely kongkang.

So, vou, yong, ling , chiuhau n me really got up early in the morning. We din manage to spot kongkang. However, we did spot d owl, birds and cock. We also did admire the diamond sky. So, really experience wat we sing “twinkle little stars like a diamond in the sky”. yong n I also saw a meteor star.

Because of heavy rain, the way to restaurant is flood. Luckily the kindly boss n his crews build a temporarily bridge for us.

After taking breakfast, we go back to the tembeling jetty by boat.

So there are many N.G sessions:

I catch yong’s foot in the cave because it was to dark and slippery. She thought that is something else.

We met a group of young KTAR Student. There are guided by Angie.

We had a splashing session in the river. Soak and wet but memorable.

The winter trip

December 21st, 2005 by it-palace

8 days spent in

Beijing

…Full of memories. I manage to visit the Tian An Gate(d centre point of China) and The forbidden city (palace where the emperor stayed) on the first day. We went to place which the emporer pray for rain (Tian Tan), fortune and luck and place where the Chi Xi spent her summer- The summer palace. The

sumer

palace is twice bigger then the forbidden city. Of course, the panda house..the cute but dirty panda..seem hav a bad winter at there. One of the world’s wonders, The Great Wall is third day itenary.Greatwall That day the temperature is –21oC. According to the local newspaper, this is the lowest temperature they ever met.  Then we went to the Mind dynasty’s tomb. There are 13 tombs. However only open one for public. this is because they need more high technology to protect everything inside the tomb by dioxide by air.  The Silk factory which located under ground is quite fascinating. According to the tour leader, what building on the ground, will also built another one under the ground. The underground can link to

Shanghai

or any big building in

Beijing

. (of course it really used by them during the war). Hutong’s (place where Faye wong live before) hightlight is the trishaw riding. We got the chance to have our lunch at local people house. Their houses are just like my living room. This is because they only hav 3 person in a house(Dad, Mum and daughter). Then we spent about 3 hrs driving south to Tian Jin. A place which full of culture and many cuisine. Their special~ “ma hua” and ‘guo bu li Pao” kind of Bun. The next day we spent another 5 hrs trip to north. A place called Cheng De. Cheng de is on top of  hill therefore the temperature is even lower. In the oldSummer_palaceen days, the emperor would spent the summer in this little town. Instead I was visited this place during winter. We went to Summer Villa which 4 times bigger than the forbidden city.

ok lo..luch time ten Pu te la Temple which locate in Cheng De is one of the place to build for celebrated Emperor Birthd

ay. Just coincidence that one of the emperor birthday is during summer.

Thought this trip, I found the ppl they very pantang of Feng Sui (since the dynasty). There are three most famous auspicious mascots- Lion, Qi Lin and Bi Xiu.. You can see everywhere especially entrance of Big company, temple, House. They believe all the luck, fortune, and every thing good will coming along.

I had a very good history class during this trip. At least next time I watch “huan zhu ge ge”. I know the beauty of  Garden yu hua and the place where the emperor works is COOL..if u think is a temple visit o olympic stadium visit ..then u got to dissapointed…cos everywhere we went is the historical place…so is a bit boring…but once u notice the art of the architecture , the paint , the miracle of the encore wall and the tian xin stone (which believe can communicate with heaven)..this oso cOOl

Honsetly, Beijing is a great place to shopping..A place where u spent less, buy more (Xiu Shui market, Ya Xiu market)..But one needs to know how to bargain. So the mandarin that I learn for almost 12 years is not wasted.  Sometimes, u got luck and u meet very nice seller. And they can give very good price.. Wang Fu Jin Street (like bukit bintang) is a street where u can see how beijing ppl spent their night life..Too bad, the weather is too cold, that spoilt my mood. That is the lowest temperature that I ever met in my life.

Bicycle (my enemy) is their favourite transport..everywhere, everypath u can see it in Beijing..When the light turn Green, the bicycle will pass by like a swap of bee..but even the light is red. They wont stop too. Therefore, if one can drive in Beijing, he would be very good in driving. There are many reckless driving not giving way to the cycles) and the road is to narrow(  I mean theis high way).

They are kind people everyw here ( especially d local tour guide-ms Amanda, Hutong’s host- mrs Hua Yu) . However, I still found irritating that most of them tend to spilt everywhere. It cause everywhere u step, hav to be very careful..

Hygienic of toilets still a problem( although some tourist spots hav been rated four stars) I hope the toilet everywheImg_0947re in China can be upgrade. If u are kind of clean lover, then shall prepare disposable toilet bowl..(heard got sell in Japan)..

One culture they had, is everywhere in Beijing u can see Recycle Bins.. this really attract my tension..at least this we need to practice.

The “Gong An” (our ‘mata’) can see everywhere.. very efficiency.. There was one incident, our plane is delayed due to 3 china women with Korean passport (well the police found their china identity card in one of the rubbish).. The police had check the whole airplane for our safety..thanks their fully responsible.

As a shopping kaki, I still manage to get some souvenior..some accessories (hand making), winter clothes(aiks, I cannot find any summer clothes), food (a lot of local tibits with o without idol look on the package, in China lots of  junk food, drinks , n instant mee with jay, handsome Pan , Edison, Nicholas on the packages.), a bags ( hand made with bauble) and d pictures..Img_1060

Bejing Duck….the cheif hav avery good culinary skill in slicing the duck..

tat’ Y d pic a bit blur…
